This was a hunt that was a couple years in planning. My buddy and I been wanting to Hunt the 40 mile herd in the Yukon Charley River preserve, we had both hunted Caribou several times before and for us it was important for this hunt to take place in that location. We try several times to secure a spot with our preferred transporter( I am sure you all can guess who) to fly us into the area however we could not get it booked. We ended up going with the only other option which happened to be excellent albeit very expensive. Fast forward to 2020 and Covid was reading havoc on our plans, with that said we jumped through the hoops and made it happen. We had and wonderful time and the hunt was everything we wanted and more.
I killed my bull at 61 yards after getting pinned down when the group of bulls I stalked decided to bed down for two hours. The rest of the trip I played spotter for Russel and was happy to see him kill a great bull. I had blast hunting with him, and we planned another hunt together already. I am already looking for repeat as I want to get back in and do this hunt again. I will forgo the long story this time and post some pictures of the hunt.
PS Thank you Nick and Stephanie for your help and hospitality. As great as bowhunting is, it pales to the friendships you make along way.

I was shooting my PSE Evoke 31, BEA Rampaages, 125 grain ironwills. The shot was I thought perfectly broadside on the bull at 61 yards, however it was ever so slightly quartering away . The arrow exited as the bull spun on impact, hearing the loud crack and seeing the bulls leg flop as he ran 30 yards before he pilled up had me thinking I missed forward. Walking too him I found the arrow missing the broached and broken behind the collar and HIT. Upon inspection it turned out that the broken leg was on the off side and that I center punched the further Humerus breaking it in a nasty compound fracture. When I processed the bull I was lucky enough to find the head and the short piece of the shaft lodged in the mess. The tip flattened a bit however the head seems to still spin true and still Sharp enough to use. I am going replace the blade, re-spin it and put it back in the rotation if it looks good.
