It was a good birthday, me and joe 4wheeler riding for the day. Joe calls it elk hunting but I call it a good time trail riding.
I do take the bow along just in case, with all the stories about how you can ride right up on deer and elk, somewhat true on deer
but forget it with elk.
We did see 6 moose though, Joe got a real close look at a calf moose. We ran into them on a trail, they ran down the trail ahead
of us, they went around a corner ahead of us, the cow went over the bank and the calf stayed on the trail. I stopped and the calf
stopped about 20ft. in front of us, and stayed there for a couple of mins. Joe got a real thrill out of that.
