I'm curious what your fully dressed (except for quiver and arrows) weighs. I put my Athens on the scale and it read 5.94 lbs. SpotHogg Hunter 5 pin 10" B-stinger Custom wrist strap QAD Rest

Just checked it 6lbs even with quiver on it along with the regular stuff on it stab sight and rest. Now I gotta find a way to lightin it up some, that's too heavy.

5.64 without the quiver, thinking about taking a hacksaw and file to my sight, things will get even lighter then LOL. That EZV sight is a way over kill when it comes to build, the mounting bracket and sight ring housing are solid alum. The 2017 models have been lightnd up somewhat.

I'm trying to see where this new Athens stands amongst other bows. It seems a slight bit heavier than some others. It is about 3/10 of a lb heavier than yours...but it was listed at 4.5 bare.....that's a little more than I am used to.....

Yeah, I hear hacksaws work on aluminum pretty well! LOL

Yep and along with my mentality of can't leave something the way it was built gets me into trouble on occasion. If I do something dumb with the sight, I'le just get one of the 2017 models. Dumb? as in destroying it wouldn't be the first time either LOL. The one thing I wont do though is go back to a pin sight, use one of these for a little and you wouldn't go back to pin sight either.

Wow! You have gotten yourself sold on that sight. Must have been an easy transition.👍

A lot easier than I thought it would be. To be honest when I ordered it first thought was what dumb thing did I do now LOL. Things got worse when it showed up, it looked like the ugly girl at the dance, but I got her so gotta dance. She sure does dance a lot better than she looks.
On the serious side though they are a hunting sight designed around situations where you have seconds to shoot and don't have time to fiddle fart around with a range finder. The range finder works good out to 50yds. I tried it out to 60yds. and was able to keep my arrows in the kill zone. Aaron the guy who builds the recommends a regular range finder form 50 out and most animals are not spookie that far out. The thing I like best though is the tick marks for aiming, I could live without the range finder part but not the aiming marks. No pins to blur don't have to fight with pin colors blending in with the background, no worry about pin sizes and you can make the tick marks any color you want. I only used 40, 50, and 60yd pins on my old spot hog so on my EZV ring I used a silver sharpie for the 20 and 30yd marks then black for my main 40, 50, 60 marks then red for the 70 and 80 ones.
I know this is a long post about this sight but hard to explain to explain it with a few words. If you ever decide to try one it would be fun reading what you would have to say about it.

I like my bow to have a little weight to it. I find they hold alot better. My CS34 use to really get a little tough to handle on a barely windy day.
If I was hunting out west where I am lugging it around all day then I want light weight. Stand hunting or target give me a boat anchor.

They are all too heavy is you ask me ....I won't even consider a bow that is isn't right around the 4 pound mark bare. My spirit is 3.9 pound and the GX2 is 4.1. With all the $$$$ we add to it they end up plenty heavy for any shooting in any conditions. If the weights of bows keep going up I Might be forced to buy carbon....or keep shooting old bows.
