They are all too heavy is you ask me ....I won't even consider a bow that is isn't right around the 4 pound mark bare. My spirit is 3.9 pound and the GX2 is 4.1. With all the $$$$ we add to it they end up plenty heavy for any shooting in any conditions. If the weights of bows keep going up I Might be forced to buy carbon....or keep shooting old bows. But the weight we are asking for is hunt ready minus the quiver and arrows...... if you don't mind, please? I'm am the same as Enkris. I could never cotton to the carbon bows except when shooting indoors..... the least bit of wind and I feel like my bow is a kite or a flag flopping around in the breeze.

I am not taking the quivers off because I leave them on when I hunt. However there isn't arrows in them 6.0 pounds for the spirit 6.5 for the gx2

That six pounder with quiver on is prolly one of the lighter bows of the thread. Is that the bow you are taking to the caribou hunt?
And what quiver is on the bow?

I am not sure which bow I take right now. However the spirit is the favorite for sure. In fact it may be my favorite bow ever. It took a bit to get where I wanted it, very heavy limbs and strings and cables that Tom made up for me to get the draw length and weight I wanted. A pound here, a pound there ...extra junk and before you know it it's slowing you down in the mountains. No bow shoots good enough for the shot that I can't get in place for. If I can't hold and shoot a 6 pound bow with 12 " Stabilizer , top of line movable sights ect ect in any and all hunting conditions then I better find a new hobby.

To me light or heavy bow is more dependent on where I'm hunting. Hunting pretty level ground or stand hunting a 6lb. plus bow is not an issue. Hunting here in Idaho where level ground is a pipe dream weight is a big issue. I'm too stingy to buy a carbon bow like George did so i'le stay with my X6. Pack a 6lb. bow up and down hill all day and you'll wish it was 6oz.

5.64 without the quiver, thinking about taking a hacksaw and file to my sight, things will get even lighter then LOL. That EZV sight is a way over kill when it comes to build, the mounting bracket and sight ring housing are solid alum. The 2017 models have been lightnd up somewhat. Thanks Kick! I'm trying to see where this new Athens stands amongst other bows. It seems a slight bit heavier than some others. It is about 3/10 of a lb heavier than yours...but it was listed at 4.5 bare.....that's a little more than I am used to..... Get used to it Stan Fat bows are In ooooohhhhh Yea!!!!!! lol

I be changing my tight spot out to save a little weight. New breeds have a triangle mount for the quiver I need someone to weight a two piece six arrow quiver so I can compare it ... or I can weigh my four arrow elite quiver and guesstimate ...but what fun is that
