After our trip to Alaska last month I am in search of a better method to transport my bow from camp to the blind. Here in Texas, I can either drive right up to my blind or at the worst, park the truck about two hundred yards away and then walk to the blind carrying my bow in hand. For the trip to Alaska, I bought one of the Neoprene styles that fit over the cams and you can sling it over your shoulder or across your back. There were two problems with that sling: first, it was a pain in the rear to get that thing on and then off of my bow. Second, we were riding atv's from camp to the blinds, about three miles. Some of that was on state roads, paved and gravel, while a lot of it was on atv trails. Those trails were muddy, sloppy, bumpy, and just plain rough terrain. Since that sling attached to the cams, that meant that the riser, stabilizer, and sight were hanging at the lowest point and were constantly bumping the atv back rack. I had to sit real far forward on the seat and then lean forward as far as I could and it still would make contact. I'm looking for another method. Some of the ones I've seen attach to the riser, which I think I would like as it should keep it higher on my back.
Any suggestions? I even hauled it one day in my SKB bow case, man, it still bounced around so much I just resorted to the sling for the duration.

When I have an ATV ride to the hunting spot I either have a soft case attached to the front of the ATV and put the bow or gun in there or I just ride with it in my lap. I am surprised the skb bounced around so much, did you have it tethered down?

I did have it bungee'd down, but it was some rough riding. I lost three screws out of the bow. One on each end of the riser and one out of the Trophy Ridge sight. On one of those trails, I was pretty much in first gear for about a mile and half. It was that muddy, bumpy, and uneven.

I don't have any advice on a better way to get your bow to your destination ... but the losing the screw thing is a different matter. Use your wife's clear fingernail polish as a threadlocker.

I just attach the bow to my pack vertically. Las year I was using a bow snatcher ..it worked ok but wasn't worth the weight and issues it has. Now I am back to using the built in lashing on my pack and pack my bow in.

Tried the sling, walking lopsided at the end of day on spot and stalk hunts. Always hand carry.

I guess I primarily need one that I can use when on an ATV and it will keep my bow and accessories from banging on the back rack. The backpack with bow carrier may be the ticket?

I have a pack with straps designed to hold a bow (Sitka flash 20), I use that if I'm traveling to a hunt area. I also have a primos bow sling that I'll use when walking.
