Not to be a fan boy.......
OK. I admit it. I'm a fan boy.
If you want the best..... go to the best.
I've fletched a lot of arrows over the years but I have never found a more consistent group of arrows than the ones that I have bought from Jerry. South Shore Archery all the way for me.

How can bea possibly be considered a top end arrow with their shafts have split down the side on the insert end. I'm not the only one this has happened to its happened on game for folks and on targets.

Is the OD of the housing closer in size to the large or small guard SH sights of old? The small guard enabled me to really get that last pin, my rover pin, to get out there at distance. Larger guard might change that some. I believe they went with the small guard. They currently do not have a 7 pin model so they may add a slightly larger pin guard to use or not offer a 7 pin Did you just say the SpotHogg did away with the large guard?

Yes they have now only one size housing. However each comes with three different sight rings.

I'm not the only one this has happened to its happened on game for folks and on targets. You have to look at the big picture and not just a small handful of folks. The internet makes things look much bigger then they really are. For the last 5 years i have been black eagles number 1 retail outlet, I spend almost $100,000.00 a year on their shafts. Last year, maybe two customers had some breakage issues. $ 300 worth of arrows compared to $100k is not many Plus you have to consider how they were used, how many of that customers arrows broke etc. I base my opinions on testing and feed back from our customers, our testing has proven the quality and our customer feedback has shown us there are very few issues with brittle arrows compared to the numbers of arrows sold.

Yes they have only 1 guard size but the sights will be shipped with 3 different rings that can be changed.

Lol ok but I haven't went out and looked for other folks that have had the same issue just ran across it. That's odd though when I contacted them they asked what inserts came with the arrows. I told them. They said hmm I thought we had this problem fixed. Appears they were aware of issues also.

YMMV but the BE Spartans have been the best all around arrows for me next to Easton FMJs. I went from GoldTips to FMJs, then tried some FMJ Deep sixes, Maxima Red Streaks then on to the Spartans. I have shot a few 1/2 dozen lots of other budget arrows but they aren't the same level.

But I'll never shoot a carnivore again and I wouldn't shoot the components that come with a carnivore or rampage. They are not quality components. The nocks on higher performance bows will not hold up. You'll find they will start to become very loose on the string to the point they'll fall off during the draw. So there's that. I didn't have issues with the shaft themselves on the rampages. I just wouldn't list an arrow as top end that has had some of the issues they've had and that aside I couldn't list one top when you have to upgrade components. Top end arrows should come with top end components.

We keep going round and round looking for the holy grail in arrows, but Easton FMJ are in my opinion still the best for a hunting arrow.

Honestly I can't stand FMJ. They bend with hard use. There GPI is way high necessitating a lot of weight up front to achieve any kind of decent FOC. I don't need to have finished weight arrows over 500 grains for the vast majority of Hunting. I think FMJ are the most over used and over rated shaft out there.

I've owned BE carnivores and rampages. Never had any issues. They shot good. But I prefer Easton components and there availability. Currently shooting fmjs and love them. If bent a few but it's nice knowing they won't explode.
