my brother and his wife took my niece to the E.R. about 2 hours ago, she started vomiting almost constantly and scratching her face and neck... he texted about 1 hour later and said it was pretty serious and they are thinking of transporting her to Texas Childrens hospital Intensive Care in Houston. She's severly dehydrated and has a bad infection. She turns 3 years old this march. Prayers are very much wanted. thanks.

She is on her way to Texas children's hospital ICU via ambulance, sounds like several IV's and tubes are hooked up to her.

Update: They put her on a breathing tube, and did a CT scan, they found something on her brain, they weren't sure if it's blood or calcium (?) They also said her body PH is way off, acidic. The Dr said it's most likely a metabolic issue. They're about to do an MRI. The neurosurgeon said he probably will NOT need to an operation. But they're going to have a CT specialist look at the scan.

Bro just texted: Another "ologist" came in and said he didn't think it was a metabolic issue, now they're leaning towards a viral infection of some kind that caused the vomiting and dehydration, like a stomach virus along with another infection. They're going to do a Metabolic test tomorrow. They also tested her for Covid, negative. She is still on a breathing tube.
No word on the MRI yet.

6:30 PM update: She is having an MRI on her head looking at that calcium spot, the Dr said it could be the cause of her issues, or it could not be the cause, either way that can be treated with medicine. She is going in for a Full Body scan tomorrow. Keep the prayers coming please!!
Due to the Chop Fluey, only 1 parent is allowed in the room at a time for 24H hours. My brother is in their now while his wife is resting at the hotel.

Update Done with the spinal tap. We will know tonight if there is any infection like meningitis. She's been on Anti biotics all day in case there's infection. The genetic test results will come later. He said she woke up earlier and he talked to her, but the Drs knocked her back out, apparently they're trying to keep her calm and heart rate low.

Results of the spinal tap: No meningitis, and it ruled out certain cancers. They're going to do further testing.

His wife emailed us a recording of a conversation with the doctor. They're going to wait to do a full body MRI until she is more on the stable side of things, the DR. Did say physically looking at her she looks a lot better than she did yesterday. They also found NO signs of any brain damage or signs of like strokes or seizures. But they said it could be awhile before they really know or can figure how to treat the exact cause.

My brother texted and said she seems to be responding better, apparently when the anesthesia wears off they let her stay awake for a little bit, or that's what it sounds like. Anyway he said if he asks her a question she'll shake her head, No which has always been her answer for everything. Things seem better, but we aren't out of the woods yet.
