Hey fellas, looking for a new bow. Would like to find a bow that's very easy to shoot and smooth. Not against Any brands (already tried obsession, want something different). Not a speed demon, but it's always nice to fling arrows at decent speed. I know I have to shoot it myself, but wondering if anybody has Any recommendations? Thanks

The PSE evolve 35 is smooth and pretty forgiving 35ata 6.5 brace,340 IBO, Obsession Pheonix XL is also on the smooth side 36 ata 7+ brace 330 IBO, Xpedition Perfexion 36 ata 7 inch brace 337 IBO, the newer Mathews both TRX bows are smooth but the halon comp is smooth and fairly quick if you want a more stable platform you should be looking at 35 ata or longer , but if your draw length is on the shorter side 25 to 27.5 you find that from 35 down to 30 ata will work just fine.

Of all the bows that I have shot, I'd give the smoothest win to Xpedition.

Pretty hard to give an opinion on smooth. It's very subjective to the person shooting. Lots of bows i shoot are smooth as in no humps but extremely stiff. I would look in that 330 ish ibo rating and you will find something you like. If you get up over 340 ibo you start to get to that performance feel. I had a xpedtion xring 6 a couple years ago. Smooth draw but stiff to me. I didn't like that in awkward draw positions when I was cold. That being said I haven't shot any 2017s

I agree, most everything about archery is subjective. And I definitely won't be spending $$$$ For 2017 bows. A guy has an xcentric to trade, but I'm a little weary of other people's used bows.

Yeah there are a lot of new bows but nothing much better in specs than my 2015. I'm not sure about the high letoff offerings this year. I've never shot one.

Once that you take your "new" bow out the first time......... "IT'S A USED BOW!!!!" If you know the guy and you can shoot it, you shouldn't be overly concerned about a used bow. As we all will tell you..... if it feels good.....buy it, shoot it and enjoy it.

As far as used bows, I was referring to arch. Talk classifieds. Could be a risky endeavor, but could be a great deal too

As far as used bows, I was referring to arch. Talk classifieds. Could be a risky endeavor, but could be a great deal too I've bought from dealers there. They usually have some demo models. That's where I got my Carbon spyder. I buy and sell lots of accessories there and haven't had issues. I bought a sight and a release this month. Perfect transactions.

George is a very knowledgeable and experienced hunter and he loves his Mathews. I can't stand anything about a Mathews and even though a good friend is a Mathews dealer and I have shot most of them..... I just don't like the feel and can't shoot one accurately at all. I If you have the option of shooting a bow before you buy it...... that is the best.

Yea, I've done many transactions with people in there as well. Never had any issues. What I'm concerned about is if someone dropped a used bow, torqued it in a home- made press or something like that. You just never know, and buying used bows can be a gamble.

That being said, there are some qualities that seem to be appreciated by a vast majority. Show me a kid who don't like chocolate ice cream, and I'll show you an odd little kid, know whatti mean?

What about It? Smooth and silky? They're a little slow at 60#, but that might make up for it if they're so easy to shoot

What about It? Smooth and silky? They're a little slow at 60#, but that might make up for it if they're so easy to shoot Yes it's a nice smooth shooting bow, easy to draw, great valley, not a speedster by any means. 33.5 A2A, 7 3/8" BH. Don't understand why anybody gets hung up on speed. Slow bows have been killing game for years.

Always nice to have that flatter trajectory in 3D. But I also hear what you're saying, it don't need to be going 400 mph to kill a deer.
